Core Principles
The FactoryLogix Users Group exists to foster productive technical discussion and knowledge sharing. These guidelines ensure our community remains helpful, professional, and welcoming to all FactoryLogix users.
What We Encourage
-
Technical problem-solving: Share detailed questions with configuration specifics, error messages, and what you’ve already tried.
-
Knowledge sharing: Post solutions, tips, and best practices that helped you in your FactoryLogix implementation.
-
Constructive feedback: When discussing challenges, focus on technical analysis and potential workarounds rather than complaints.
-
Detailed examples: Include screenshots, configuration snippets, and step-by-step descriptions when helpful.
-
Professional identity: Use your real or professional name and optionally share your company/role to build community trust.
-
Respectful disagreement: It’s okay to disagree with approaches or offer alternatives, but do so constructively.
-
Helping others: If you know the answer to someone’s question, take a moment to help them out.
What Is Not Allowed
-
Personal attacks: Do not attack, insult, or demean other community members, Aegis employees, or any individuals.
-
Vendor bashing: General complaints about Aegis, FactoryLogix, or any vendor without constructive technical content are not permitted.
-
Harassment: Any form of harassment, discrimination, or targeting of individuals will result in immediate suspension.
-
Spam and self-promotion: Do not post advertisements, excessive self-promotion, or off-topic content.
-
Confidential information: Do not share proprietary information from your company, Aegis, or others without authorization.
-
Defamatory content: False or misleading statements about individuals or companies are strictly prohibited.
-
Aggressive language: Keep discussions calm and professional, even when frustrated with technical issues.
Posting Best Practices
-
Search first: Before posting a new question, search existing discussions to see if your issue has been addressed.
-
Use descriptive titles: Write clear titles that summarize your question or topic.
-
Provide context: Include FactoryLogix version, relevant configuration details, and steps to reproduce issues.
-
Choose the right category: Post in the most appropriate category to help others find and answer your question.
-
Follow up: If you solve your problem, share the solution to help future users with similar issues.
